HDFC Bank: No Cashback on Credit Card Bill Payments via Debit Cards

Previously, HDFC Bank offered cashback on credit card bill payments via debit Cards.
But recently, HDFC Bank made changes to its cashback rules.

HDFC Bank customers who have an active savings or current account with a debit card facility are no longer eligible for cashback on credit card bill payments.

HDFC Debit card customers got ean mail that looked like this:

Subject: Important Update: No Cashback on Credit Card Bill Payments via Debit Cards

Dear Valued Customer,

Important Note:
Credit card bill payments made using debit cards will not earn Cashback Points.

On which categories will you earn cashback?
Cashback Points are awarded only on specific eligible Merchant Category Codes (MCCs).
MCCs are defined and classified by card networks (Visa/Mastercard/Rupay) based on the nature of the business.
These MCCs may change at the discretion of the network partners, and such updates are implemented as per their communication.
