Amazon India is now charging a ₹49 processing fee for customers availing Instant Bank Discounts (IBD) of ₹500 or more, effectively reducing the net savings from these banking offers.
The processing fee, which came into effect on Friday, applies to all users, including Prime members, and remains non-refundable even if an order is canceled or returned.
For example, say you’re buying something worth Rs 6,000 and your bank gives you a Rs 500 discount. Normally, you’d pay Rs.5,500. But now, Amazon will tack on Rs 49 as a fee, so your final payable amount becomes Rs 5,549.
-Prime members are not exempt — this applies to all users
-Discounts below ₹500 are not subject to this fee
What happens if you cancel or return the order?
Even customer order is cancelled or returned, the ₹49 processing fee will not be refunded. This is a non-refundable processing fee.
Why is Amazon charging this fee on Instant Bank Discounts?
According to Amazon, the processing fee helps to offset the costs associated with managing and processing bank discount offers.
